SOTU: Corazón Latino Supports the Biden Administration’s Plan to Complete his Progressive Agenda
Washington, D.C. - President Biden spoke directly to the nation outlining the progress made on his agenda as well as the White House plans to complete his vision during his second State of the Union Address.
Felipe Benitez, Executive Director and Founder of Corazón Latino, issued the following statement:
“We are proud that this administration has proven to be a climate ally focused on social and environmental justice. President Biden was confidently able to discuss all of the accomplishments already made by this administration, which have laid the foundation for remarkable progress to improve the quality of life for generations of Americans. The Infrastructure Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act proved to be legislative cornerstones that address a myriad of health and economic issues, while also securing the largest climate investment in U.S. history. Tonight, Biden underscored that there is more to come and that he is committed to “finishing the job.”
“The State of the Union Address gives us hope that the White House will continue to work to unite the country and build a nation where our social, health, and economic systems support everyone. This will require even more investments in our environment and in social justice initiatives. But President Biden made it clear that he would continue to “do big things.” Corazón Latino will continue to support all actions - big or small - to advance the environmental and social justice efforts that our country needs.
“We urge our elected officials to remain focused on unity, collaboration, and our shared goals for the benefit of all Americans.”
