Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall to visit Amarillo
AMARILLO, Texas – The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall is coming to Amarillo March 27-28, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days at the Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home, located at 1020 Tascosa Rd., Amarillo, Texas 79124. This special event is open to the community to join our Veterans in tribute. The Traveling Memorial stands as a reminder of the great sacrifices made during the Vietnam War.
The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will arrive in Amarillo on Tuesday, March 26 and will be escorted by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association at 6 p.m. from the Texas Panhandle War Memorial, located at 4111 S. Georgia, to the Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home.
On Wednesday, March 27, there will be an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. followed by food trucks and a resource fair until 12 p.m. Guests can view the Vietnam Memorial Wall until 7 p.m.
The wall can be viewed from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 28 with a closing ceremony at 7 p.m.
This event is in coordination with AVTT, Brothers-Sisters of Our Military Adventures, Bubba’s 33, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, CreatiVets, Homeless Heros, The Military Order of the Purple Heart, Military Veteran Peer Network, Texas Panhandle War Memorial, Amarillo VA Health Care System, and Veterans Resource Center.
